Kerry warns Syria's Assad against rejecting political solutionU.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Jordan says Western governments are ready to increase support to opponents of President Bashar al-Assad if he rejects a political solution to Syria's civil war.

"All the partners come here to meet this evening with the goal of putting an end to the bloodshed"
The conflict in Syria has lasted for more than two years. This this latest amateur video, which could not be independently verified by Reuters shows the aftermath of government airstrike on a town near the Lebanese border.
Against this backdrop the US and Russia hope to hold a peace conference in Geneva next month to try to end the violence.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE, JOHN Kerry, SAYING:
"In the event that we cant find that way forward, in the event that the Assad regime is unwilling to negotiate Geneva 1 in good faith, we will also talk about our continued support and growing support for the opposition in order to permit them to continue to be able to fight for the freedom for their country."
The conference aims to build on last year's accord in Geneva which set out plans for a transition of power in Syria, but broke down over disagreements about Assad's role.
